OUR STORY

With a sparse pageant and fashion industry Mackynlie Conklin, Miss Permian Basin 2019, and Gladys Ornelas, Miss West Texas 2020, started Model Haus after finishing their reigns as local title holders in West Texas. With experience in runway, photography modeling, pageantry, and public speaking both Conklin and Ornelas decided to offer their knowledge and community connections to house resources in West Texas to create industry-specific opportunities for locals to learn and gain experience who may not have the opportunity to outsource.

  • “I see the potential in so many people here. I’d love to see West Texas grow in the modeling and pageantry industry. With Model Haus, our clients can learn the importance of perseverance, discipline, and work ethic as I did.”

    Gladys Ornelas, Co-Owner

  • “Being so far from cities with a direct link to [the modeling and pageantry] industries pushed me to create Model Haus for those who don’t have access to those resources. Instead of referring people to go “somewhere else” I wanted to bring that experience to West Texas. I want people of all ages, sizes, and experience levels to feel valued and empowered in a place where their potential is limitless.”
